1

HR (Hot Rolled) Slitting

HR slitting is designed to meticulously trim the coarse edges of Hot Rolled (HR) coils, effectively dividing them into narrower widths.

2

Pickling and Oiling

Pickling and Oiling The pickling line serves the purpose of eliminating ferrous scale from the surface of HR (Hot Rolled) Coils. This process involves the utilization of three acid tanks and three rinse tanks. To conclude the procedure, a hot air blower is used at the end to efficiently dry off any excess water present on the strip. Oiling involves applying a specific oil to the surface of a recently pickled and rinsed metal, oil that prevents corrosion and allows the metal to be stored long-term with minimal oxidation. Later, if a fabrication process requires the removal of this oil, this is easily possible.

3

Rolling Mill

Following the pickling and oiling process, the HR coil undergoes cold rolling to achieve the desired thickness. The 6-Hi mill utilised in this phase features advanced capabilities such as automatic gauge control (AGC), pass schedule storage, and Auto Slow Down (ASD) functionality. These technological enhancements contribute to delivering a flat strip shape, minimizing edge drops, and achieving thinner gauges with precision.

4

Annealing

The annealing process involves heating, soaking, and controlled cooling of coils within a non-oxidizing atmosphere. Specifically, the annealing is carried out in a 100% hydrogen atmosphere, ensuring a clean and bright surface finish on the coils. This method not only optimizes the material's properties through controlled thermal treatment but also enhances the overall aesthetic quality of the surface.

5

Skin Passing

Skin passing is a crucial step that effectively eliminates stretcher strain or Luder Lines from the material. This process is instrumental in achieving the desired surface finishes, including options such as Matt and Bright on the strip. Additionally, skin passing imparts a level of flatness to the strip, ensuring a smooth and uniform surface quality in the final product.
